Christmas Morning!!

Here are some belated pictures of the kids on Christmas morning. We have so much going in December-January. From Christmas to Porter's birthday to Cambell's birthday on January 11th-I told Jed that it was wearing me out and causing me some anxiety because it is so busy. I we can always count on it being chaotic EVERY year at this time. He said he would just mark his calendar every year that his wife will be a little crazy starting the middle of December and ending the middle of January. I believe it is true!! So sad but soo soo true. We did have a great Christmas morning. Cambell was so fun this year and suprised, hence the look on her face in the 1st picture. Every time she would pull something out of her stocking she would follow it up with "This is EXACTLY what I wanted". That Santa must be super amazing!!! This was the look she gave us when she realized that Santa ate all his cookies and his chocolate milk that she left for him. He even left behind some crumbs on the coffee table. She looked at me and said "That messy Santa!!"

She is teaching Porter all about his new toy. He was very interested in his new stuff!!

Cambell is showing Porter the in's and out's of his new toy! He is very curious and eager to see how it all works!! She is such a great big sister.

The Party!!

We had Porter's Birthday party on Saturday night. We had 30+ people over for this little tikes big day. We made dinner and then the fun began. Porter had a great time digging into his cake. He didn't hold back and ended up grabbing fists full of cake and tossing it into the air. We all had a great laugh. He thought it was very delicious and became a little upset after I took it away due to the large mess he was making!! The cake is my very first attempt at making any sort ofdecorative cake. You can't tell by the picture but it was HUGE. I used 4 1/2 cake mixes and 4- 2 1b. bags of powder sugar (for the frosting) . I think all in all it turned out pretty cute. When it was time for him to get his first shot at his cake, I removed this catepillars head and gave it to Porter. Thanks to everyone for coming and spending a few hours with us to celebrate. We had a great time and love you all!!

I just thought I would post a few of my favorite pictures and reminisce the past year of our cute baby!! I love this little guy so, so much. He is such a happy little thing and makes me smile every time I look into his cute face. I can't believe how quickly it goes by. I remember when Porter was a newborn and just a couple months old, I would think to myself how I couldn't wait until he stopped spitting up so much or until he stopped pooping every 5 minutes but now that he is growing I would give anything just to hold him once more when he was so tiny and snuggly. If only they could stay in the newborn phase just a bit longer. I will say though it is a lot of fun to see him interact with us. He loves to dance, play tug with our dog-Dax, and he loves to EAT!! Tonight he learned how to suck out of a straw and he was very, very proud of himself.

Our Christmas Tree!!

Cambell loved decorating the tree this year. It was so much fun watching her find spots for each ornament. She got behind the tree and placed SEVERAL ornaments in one spot. It took some convincing that we needed to spread them out but I managed to move them without her losing it!!

The finished product!!! We love Christmas at our house and it gets even more exciting as the kids grow. Porter CANNOT leave the tree alone. I can't tell you how many times I have had to fix the ribbon and put ornaments back on the tree. He now has learned to leave it alone, most of the time. He sometimes can't resist and just has to touch it and remove at least one thing, little stinker. Although Cambell also takes ornaments off of the tree and does some sort of imaginative play with them!!!

So I have yet to mention Porter's two front teeth. He has David Letterman teeth and who can't help but laugh every time this baby smiles at you. It is hilarious. I hope that eventually the gap will close up for his sake but there might be braces in his future. For now, we love those cute little toothies and can't stand how much fun we are having with him. He is the happiest boy and his biggest problem is that he doesn't want to go to sleep, hence the following pictures. He fought so hard to not go to sleep that he ended up falling asleep sitting up and then fell forward. I had to snap a few pictures and then I straightened him out!!!

My friend Sara talked me into doing a 5k on Thanksgiving morning. It was actually very fun. I ran it in 29 minutes and 15 seconds. Not to shabby!! The proceeds went to a food drive so it was well worth it. And the t-shirts are pretty cute too!!

This is Porter's first Thanksgiving! He tried several different items that were on the menu and still he preferred his baby food. I made him his very own candied yams (because the dish had pecans in it so i opted out on that one) and still he didn't love them as much as I do. WHAT??? Who doesn't like sweet potatoes with loads of butter and brown sugar.....delicious!!!

Cambell on the other hand had a great time and enjoyed the food!! I mentioned how the turkey just melts in your mouth because it was SO fabulous. Well she took a bite of turkey off of her plate and sat there for a while. She then said "Well the turkey DOES NOT melt in my mouth". Needless to say she had the whole table laughing for a long time after that. Silly girl!! We spent Thanksgiving with my family and some of our close friends that live next door to my mom and step-dad. I feel very blessed to have such a great husband, sweet children, and a wonderful family, friends, and in-laws!! I couldn't ask for much more and I hope everyone had a great day too!!

Disney On Ice

These cute seven dwarfs were darling!! We went with our fun friends, Angie and Lexi, to Disney on Ice. We started out our night by going to McGrath's for dinner. We were enjoying our food when Angie and I heard a weird sound. Sure enough, there was a man around the corner coughing and sputtering. He was choking on his food and Angie and I thought we were going to have to be in "nurse mode". But this dear man had a friend who did the hymlic maneuver and in the end he made it. Thank goodness!!!!

Cambell wanted to be Cinderella and Lexi was Tinkerbell. They looked so cute and both just sat and stared. They were very attentive to the show and had a great time!! Thanks girls for coming with us.

Cambell thought she had to hold her own and pull her and Porter's suitcase. I thought it was cute!! She is a sweet girl.......most of the time.We went to Park City with our close friends, The Nagrants. We found free rooms on KSL ( Free, but we had to sit through a timeshare spill. It was actually very enticing, but no thanks. Not now, anyways!!) We had a great time but all the adults decided that we should have left the kids home and had a RELAXING weekend getaway. I say that but still can't leave my little Porter just yet. Call me crazy....I have a very difficult time leaving my kids for a very much needed weekend away. They are only little once and I just don't want to miss out on all of their first's!! Sorry Jed!!!!

I didn't think it was the best idea to put Porter in the hot tub so we sat out and endured the cold weather. That didn't last to long and we ended up walking around the hotel and going back to the room to wait. Still it was fun. Thanks Sara, Jeff, and kids for coming with us. Even though we didn't get to spend as much time together as we wished, it still was fun.

Halloween!!

Happy Halloween!! I know super late but at least I am blogging AGAIN!! We had a great Halloween this year. It was a lot of fun to get the kids dressed up. Cambell decided out of the blue that she was going to be Snow White. Well as you all know, her hair is as blond as it gets and she looks nothing like that little Snow White princess. I found her this "mop" online and decided she had to have it. It was a little untamed at times but we had a ton of fun having her wear it. As for Porter, he spotted a donut at Jed's parents house and decided to help himself to it. I believe he thought he hit the jackpot. His first encounter with a treat like that and he couldn't get enough. I tried to take it away and he let me have it!!! Cute little stinkers they are.

Porter is such a sweet, sweet baby. We feel so very blessed to have him in our lives. He is learning new things every day. He now has 4 teeth and love, love, loves to eat!! There isn't anything that he dislikes....besides formula. He has the very best giggle ever and we cannot get enough of this little guy. If every baby could be like him, I think we would have a grundle of kids!! He isn't crawling YET, but he definatly is on the move and can get anywhere by rolling and scooting. He is ALWAYS smiling but this particular day he decided to be very somber. They turned out cute anyways. I have so much more to update everyone on "us". It is coming soon, I promise. I am not the best blogger in the world due to my every 2 month or more postings. Sorry, life is busy!!!

We bought a trailer this summer and we have been camping a few times. We probably would go more except for the fact the trailer (might I mention is brand new) has been in the shop 3 times now. Super frustrating. Hopefully, this will be the last time. That's a whole different story. But we have been camping with The Kohlmeyer's and we just got back from a family campout for Jed's dad's 60th birthday. It was a blast and most of all, all the "cousins" enjoyed themselves greatly.

These are just a few pictures of what we have been up to. Cambell got a new swingset and loves playing on it. We have only been able to go swimming twice due to the obvious reason. Porter is growing so, so fast. He is such a sweet little guy and so relaxed. I hope that he stays this way. He melts my heart everytime he laughs or cries. I guess he constantly is melting my heart!!! What can I say, I just love him. Cambell has done fabulous with Porter. He watches every move she makes and is smiling at her the majority of the time. I am interested to see how they interact with one another when he gets bigger. The other morning he was babbling in his crib and Bell could hear him through the monitor. She asked me if she could go say good morning to him. She went running into his room and I could hear her through the monitor saying " Hold on Porter, big sister is coming. Here comes big sister!!" I laughed so hard. She adores him and he lights up every time he sees her.

I know, I know!! I have been terrible at blogging....uumm for the last two months. Sorry everyone. I have done a marathon blogging night tonight so now I feel like I am up to speed a little bit on our blog. These are pictures of today and the following are of the last two months. I will try much harder to be a better "blogger." Ow and since I have added a lot of stuff on here, it kicked Porter's one month old pictures onto the next page so you have to click on the "older posts" link to see the rest (instructions were for those who didn't know how to do it :) . Thanks for looking!!!

We went and picked up yet another stroller!! Seriously, how many strollers does one need?? Well we now have five. Yes...five. We have a single stroller, an umbrella stroller, a double stroller, a single jogging stroller, and now a bike trailer/jogger!!

We are going to sell the single jogger. Anyone interested??? That way we will only have four strollers. I thought that I needed a trailer/jogger so I can put both the kids in it and head out in the morning or whenever to go running!!!

Cambell was so excited when we found this at the store. She kept telling me that we needed this. She also told me that Lincoln (our cute neighbor friend across the street) had one and she needed one too. How could I say no to that?!! Needless to say, Cambell thinks it's great and kept asking all afternoon " Can we go jogging now?" Jed and I took the kids on a little stroll around the neighborhood. I think it was a good investment!! Now all we need is some bikes to get the full use out of it.

Porter is now smiling like crazy!! He is on the verge of laughing. He tries so hard to get a giggle out. You can just see his little brain going a hundred miles an hour. He loves to lay under his toy set and bat with his hands at the hanging toys. He is such a sweet little boy. He is recognizing us more and more every day. His little eyes light up when he sees us and then gives us big grin. I don't think there is anything better then that!!

This is the first outing to the park this year. It was a bit windy but the kids still enjoyed themselves and were able to run off some energy. I can't wait for spring and summer to come. I feel like we have been couped up in the house forever. It is time for some outside activities. Cambell is eating up every minute she can to be outside and ride her bike!! Please let it be warm....no more snowy days.

So Cambell found this pink pen and wanted to color with it. I thought she was just scribbling on some paper while I did house work. She disappeared into my bedroom closet and when she came out this is how she looked. We have a big mirror in the closet so she decided it was a good idea to draw on her face and look in the mirror so she could see what she was doing. Doesn't she look beautiful?!! She was very proud of herself. But she wasn't so happy when it was time to scrub it off in the shower.

Valentines Day!!

To celebrate Valentines Day, we hung out with our cute friends-Angie, Lexi, and Riker. We decorated sugar cookies. The girls had a great time using LOTS of sprinkles!! They were excited to have the same matching shirts. Thanks Angie & Lexi for letting us come and mess up your kitchen, it was fun!!
Now the true test!! Yum...Cambell LOVES sugar cookies, especially the pink frosting. A lot of the time, she just licks the frosting off and forgets about the cookie part. She then will ask for another cookie so she can lick the frosting off of that one too.

I seriously can't believe how fast the last three years have gone by. Cambell is such a sweet little girl and a great big sister. She loves helping out with Porter and is always trying to get him to look at her. She is talking so much better these days, sometimes to good. She is always making us laugh with some funny comment. I think she has Jed's personality. She can always come back up with a silly remark. I feel like she is older then she really is. We love her and would be so bored without her. She keeps us on our toes!!!

Porter is now one month old. I took the kids to get their pictures taken together. They turned out so great. We couldn't be happier with them. Porter is doing good. He continues to sleep a lot and go through a million diapers in one day (so I'm exagerating just a little...but it feels like a million!!) He has reflux and we have started him on zantac. It seems to help a little bit but he still struggles. He is a very good baby, he just makes a lot of squeeky noises all the time and is spitty. He melts my heart in such a way that I just can't explain. He is such a snuggily baby. I can't get enough of him!!

Cambell turns 3!!

Cambell started out her 3rd birthday taking a soak with an excess amount of bubbles. Jed put bubbles in the tub and turned on the jets. Next thing you know we could barely see the top of her head. She was surrounded by massive amounts of fluffy bubbles. She was in heaven. Cambell can play in the tub or shower for hours. For her birthday, we just invited the grandparents over for cake and icecream. For the cake, I asked her what kind she wanted. Cambell is a huge lover of the show "Max & Ruby". Ruby makes a Angel Surprise Cake for her grandma. The cake has pink icing and blue and pink hearts and stars on it. That is the cake she told me she wanted. Easy enough for me. She got a yellow cake with pink icing and star smarkles (that's how she says sprinkles). She thought it was the best cake ever. She told me that it was so wonderful. I made it and showed it to her on the morning of her birthday. The whole rest of the day she couldn't stop checking on it just to make sure it was still there. We sang to her and wanted to do cake but she had her own agenda and said "No, let's do presents first." We did presents and needless to say she forgot about the cake and didn't even want to eat a piece of her favorite cake. She just wanted to play. It's been great for me because she got a lot of different stuff and it has kept her very busy. Thanks to everyone for the gifts and for spending time with Cambell on her birthday!! She had a wonderful day.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who called or came to visit us after the baby was born. And thanks to all who helped us out while we were in the hospital. We can't even express how much we appreciate it. We feel very blessed to have such wonderful family, friends, and neighbors. Our neighborhood is so great. We didn't have to cook for a week because so many people were bringing us meals and treats. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! We love you all.

Hi everyone!! Sorry I haven't updated my blog until now. We have been a little busy trying to get adjusted to our little one. Porter was born on December 29th at 5:56 pm. I had a C-Section and I can say this go around is amazingly better than the first C-Section. He weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. He seems so tiny to us. He is such a great baby and we have enjoyed every minute of his little life. Cambell is such a proud big sister and loves to help me with him. If she is dragging around a toy, she makes sure he has one of her toys sitting next to him. She has been so great with him.

Merry Christmas!! We had an enjoyable time decorating the tree this year. Cambell is very excited about the holiday season and can't get enough of Christmas lights and those big blow up yard ornaments. Every time we drive by a house that has santa or frosty she yells "Look, it's my friends!" She helped me wrap presents the other day and surprisingly enough she hasn't even asked to open any of them. I am posting a mass amount of pictures at one time because I have been slacking in the blog department. We have been busy with Christmas parties, getting the baby room done, and just the usual nesting stuff!! Hopefully it will only be 3 more weeks until we get to see Porter!!! I can't wait. It is getting to the uncomfortable part of being pregnant. I love it but am ready to have him out and be a part of our family. We will keep you posted. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!!!

Today we got out of the house and went to the Discovery Gateway. I feel like all I have done is drag Cambell around to do Christmas shopping and do things that I need to get done. So I decided we needed to have some kid time and let her enjoy a day doing something she likes. We went with our friends Sara & Davin. They had a great time running wild and playing.

Before we go to bed, we check on Cambell for obvious reasons. She is a twizzler while she sleeps and we often have to save her from falling on the ground. Jed thought that we needed to capture one of these moments that she has regularly!!!

Cambell thought it was great to go knock on doors and recieve treats. She was so polite to everyone who gave her candy. She said "Thank you" several times to the same person until they aknowledged that she was talking to them. She got a lot of candy, too much!! We hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween.

Happy Halloween!! Cambell was a very colorful fairy. She enjoyed getting dressed up and putting on her "makeup". Even after Halloween, she asks me frequently if she can put on her makeup? Yesterday she came up to me and said "Mom, you put on your makeup. Now, let me put mine on-please?" Back to Halloween night, Cambell loved to go up to the doors and yell "Trick-or-treat." For the past week or so, we have been practicing what to say when you go to the door to get candy. When I was getting her ready for the big night, we had some kids come to the door. I explained to her that we needed to get ready so we could go trick-or-treating. The kids left and she said "I wanted them to smell my feet." Ha, she didn't really understand the whole saying of Trick-or-treat, smell my feet......... but Jed and I got a big laugh out of it. Uum... I still think we are laughing about it.

Cambell found this hat at my mom's house and decided that she needed some pictures taken with it on!! She is such a ham when the camera is pulled out. She loves to take our camera and walk around the house and take pictures by herself. We get a lot of pictures of Jed and I from the chest down and a ton of pictures of her best buddy, Dax.

Cambell has been watching these pumpkins grow and grow all summer long over at her grandma's house. When it was time to pick them she was so excited. I told her that grandma was ready to pick the pumpkins. That entire day until we went over to my mom's, she kept asking me "Is it time??" I learned a good lesson that day-Not to tell her about something that she is excited to do, until right before the event!! She LoVeS PUMPKINS!!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!!

This is what we woke up to on Sunday morning!!

Cambell was so excited and couldn't stop thinking about building a snowman. Jed took her out in the backyard and helped her build her very first snowman!! She couldn't believe it. I guess I helped a little bit. I found accessories for our dear friend and dressed him up a little bit. He is a little crazy looking but she thought he was wonderful. The next day, he began to melt. Cambell ran outside to greet him and as she got near Frosty, he fell backwards. She had quite the meltdown and required a lot of hugs. She came running back to the house hysterical and yelling "He got hurt, fix him". I couldn't help but laugh (of course without letting her see me). Then we had to call dad and tell him that Frosty was melting!! Our first snow experience for the season was great fun and I am sure there will be many more as winter moves in.
She also discovered that she could eat the snow. Now we just need to teach her about yellow snow!! Good luck huh?

Some of Cambell's favorite foods that she has really enjoyed this summer are watermelon and corn. She thinks they are very delicious! She also is really into cooking with Jed and I. She loves to stir everything and make big messes. I ask her what she is doing and a lot of times and I get the answer of "I just making a mess, mom". We made delicious chocolate chip cookies with Cambell's great friends-Madeline, Morgan, and Davin. They were having way too much fun enjoying their cookies and playing.

So I finally decided to do a blog so everyone can see what we are up to. I am not very good at sending ANYONE pictures of Cambell so I figured this would be a easy way for all to view what is going on with us. I have had good intentions of doing a blog for many months now but I just haven't really taken the time out to do it and I did need a little help from my dear friend, Angie, to help me figure this out.
